WHO ARE THE LEADS FOR THIS PROJECT?

The lead applicants for the East St. Louis Choice Neighborhood Planning grant are Urban Strategies and the East St. Louis Housing Authority.

WHEN IS THE PROJECT OVER?

The Choice Neighborhood Planning Transformation Plan was awarded in 2018 and is scheduled to be completed in Winter 2020.

WHERE CAN I READ THE TRANSFORMATION PLAN?

The Transformation Plan is not yet available publicly but will be available here once it is published for public comment and review.

HOW MANY COMMUNITY PARTNERS HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN THE PROJECT?

There are currently over 30 community partners that have been involved in the Choice Neighborhood Planning grant. You can learn more about them here.

HOW HAVE COMMUNITY RESIDENTS BEEN ENGAGED?

There have been over 380 community residents engaged through neighborhood surveys, community meetings, focus groups, and other outreach and engagement events.

WHEN DOES IMPLEMENTATION BEGIN?

Following the completion of the Choice Neighborhood Planning grant in December of 2020, the planning team will apply for Choice Neighborhood Implementation once the Notice for Funding Opportunity is released by HUD. Submitting a strong Transformation Plan is key to submitting a strong Implementation grant application.
